English Language Kindergarten Possibility to be Discussed

Author: Author Unknown, Issue: July 1998, Topic: Education

Many in the international community come to Tsukuba during the early years of their family, which means that they often have small children accompanying them. The need has long been recognized for an English-language kindergarten. Without all of the necessary ingredients to make it happen, however, it has remained an unfilled need.

As a first step towards fulfilling this dream, interested parties are organizing a preliminary meeting designed to gauge the interest and to explore the options available for getting something started by April of 1999. Organizationally, this kindergarten would be an independent entity.

As present there is no facility or funding available with which to begin this program, so both of these hurdles will have to be crossed. If you are interested in giving your input to this exploratory effort, you are invited to attend the meeting scheduled at 8 pm on Wednesday, July 22 at the Tsukuba Christian Center/YMCA building near Daiei. For more information, contact Tim Boyle at 55-1907.
