Tsukuba Public Library is looking for someone to volunteer to read English books to the young library patrons one Sunday per month (usually the third Sunday). In general the reading time lasts for about 30 minutes. (When I did this activity, I would usually read a book and then play some sort of game with the kids using the words in the book.)
If you are interested in helping out, please contact the library directly.
Tel: 029-856-4311 Fax: 029-856-6277
(It might be hard to apply for this volunteer activity if you can't speak Japanese. If that is the case, please get someone to help you make the initial contact with the library.)
