Middle Eastern Slide Show

Author: Author unknown, Issue: February 1996, Topic: Events

Many of you may be watching the recent developments in Israeli/Palestinian relations with great interest, and perhaps fear and sadness as well as hope. Last fall, Anne D'Errico, a foreign resident of Tuskuba and psychotherapist, literally fulfilled a dream of hers by visiting the Holy Land. On a two week study tour with an international group of almost thirty people, she traveled throughout Israeli and Palestinian areas, each evening gathering with others to study sacred texts and share impressions. In addition to visiting historical biblical and traditional religious sites, the group had the opportunity to meet and dialogue with both Palestinians and Jews jointly involved in leading grass roots peace and educational efforts and experienced the shock waves that gripped the area as Yitzak Rabin was killed.

Anne has many slide photos of this beautiful, fierce and conflicted land, and Cosmos no kai will sponsor her sharing them in a presentation at Tsukuba Information Center on Friday, March 15th at 10:30 am. Discussion and questions are encouraged. Please come and join us for this interesting and informative morning. A small fee of 800 yen per person will include light refreshments. We look forward to seeing you. So that we may plan for seating, please call Kumi at 42-6913 or Yoko at 72-1707, if possible by March 8th to preregister or if you have any questions.
