If you're looking for a fun thing to do that is also for a good cause, consider the Mt. Fuji Charity Ride being put on by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Japan. From 9 am to 5 pm on Nov. 23rd (a national holiday), the Mt. Fuji Speedway is dedicated for this event. You can take a cruise around the course just like race cars (though not as fast, of course!). Lot's of other fun events.
Participation is only 2000 yen per car -- any (legal) number of persons, and 1000 yen per bike. Proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. If interested, you're asked to fax your info to the office at 03-3221-8380 by Nov. 17. However, even if you decide to go at the last minute, there should be no problem getting in, and last minute entrees are welcome.
