New Shopping Area Opens Up In Oho

Author:Author unknown, Issue: November 1998, Topic: Shopping

A new area of stores is rapidly being developed in an area located just south of the junction of Nishi Odori and Higashi Odori to the north of Tsukuba University. Kasumi has opened up a new shopping center featuring groceries and clothing, and will soon be opening up a home center store across the street. Farther in from the entrance off of Higashi Odori (towards the west) is a new store called 'Sankee', which features cloth and sewing supplies along with curtains, rugs, etc. and a section of inexpensive clothing. For those living on the north end of Tsukuba, these represent a welcomed addition to shopping options. As the Sankee store is the only one like it in Tsukuba (the other relatively close one being in Ushiku), it is a good place to look for cloth and related items.
