Picking Lavender And Making Potpourri

Author: Tsukuba Mothers Network, Issue: June 2006, Topic: Tsukuba Mothers Network

The beautiful season for lavender has come! The event of June is "Picking Lavenders and Making Potpourri" in a lavender farm next to Yukari-no-Mori. You can enjoy picking lavender and also making potpourri. We usually call this potpourri 'lavender sticks'. The lavender fragrance makes you feel comfortable. And after making potpourri, let's enjoy lunch there.

  • When: Monday, June 19 10:30-13:00
  • Where: Nobori-Engei Lavender Farm, Yukari-no-Mori, in front of the Museum of Entomology (239 Tohigashi Tsukuba-shi)
  • Fee: 500 yen
  • What to bring: scissors, picnic lunch, beverage, picnic mat

If you can join, please contact us by June 11. In the event of rain, it will be postponed to June 26. If it rains on June 26, the event will be cancelled.

The Tsukubus (Route 7) can be used. The bus schedule is as follows.

  • Departure: 10:25, Tsukuba Bus Terminal (Tsukuba Center)
  • Arrival: 10:36, Yukari-no-Mori Iriguchi (Tohigashi)

If you come by car, please use the parking lot of Yukari-no-Mori. Go through the parking lot near the entrance, keep going to the end of the forest. You can find the best parking lot on your left near the lavender farm.

If you don't have any way to get to Yukari-no-Mori, please contact us.
