Support Groups For Women

Author: Author unknown, Issue: February 1996, Topic: Women

English speaking foreign women are invited to join an informal social group one evening a month in the Tsukuba area to make new friends, exchange information and provide support for each other. This international group is diverse and multicultural, and interested Japanese women who have lived abroad are also most welcome. Please call Anne at 57-7468 for further information.

Midlife Transitions

Beginning shortly, a small group of English speaking women, both Japanese and foreign, will be meeting monthly to study and dialogue about issues encountered during midlife transition. We will be using myth from around the world, and hope to include personal material such as related dreams to enrich the process. Midlife is a time when our bodies and our lives are often in major upheaval. This international, multicultural group hopes to examine this important time to determine what adjustments may be necessary to desirable for enhancing both the very normal, natural and universally predictable as well as the unexpected changes required of us to that creative transformation can occur with our conscious cooperation.

The group will be led and facilitated by Anne D'Errico, a trained counselor, educator and group leader. Please call her at 57-7468 or Kumi Ogura at 42-6913 for further information or to arrange a brief initial interview so that we can determine if your interest are compatible with the group. A small fee per session will include refreshments.
