In addition to the Toastmasters Club in Tsukuba, there is also one in Abiko, Chiba (near Toride). (To learn about Toastmasters club, please look at www.toastmasters.org.) If you live around Abiko and are interested in improving your public speaking skills, please come and have a look. We read newspaper articles and discuss them, make short speeches on given topics, and make long speeches in turn (all in English). It is also a good place to get to know people with different backgrounds. We usually have a meeting twice a month, mostly on Sunday afternoons, and sometimes on Saturday evenings, which is often followed by dining out and Karaoke. The membership fee to cover room charges and photocopies is 1,000yen for six months.
