Author:Shaney Crawford, Issue: September 2004, Topic: Volunteering

Go M.A.D. (Go Make A Difference) is an international web-based organization founded and run by teachers on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme and their Japanese friends. We also rely on the support of Go Madders at home in Canada, America, Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. We work to encourage and facilitate cross cultural understanding by linking volunteering with traveling. Go M.A.D. not only helps support projects financially through JET and Japanese communities, but creates international understanding and empowers young people when volunteers return from their travels and bring their experience into their communities or classrooms. The Go M.A.D. site is open and free to everybody. It is linked with projects all over the world in which you can volunteer with at anytime.
