Come Let Us Reason Together

Author: Author Unknown, Issue: May 2006, Topic: Religion

There is a forum, open to all, for the purpose of discussing the intersection of faith and science. Is it a dichotomy or a duality? Galileo Galilei said "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use". We agree.

We will be examining the arguments for the existence of a creator of all life. Are modern theories regarding the origin of life credible? Are they scientifically sound? We will also hold a discourse on the archaeological validity of Biblical scriptures. In light of recent discoveries and speculations, how do these ancient texts hold up? As the most widely-published book in the world, it warrants inquiry. The forum shall also investigate the claims of Jesus. Was he mad? Was he who and what he claimed to be?

The upcoming topics to be discussed (in English) are as follows:

  • May 7: The DaVinci Code Deciphered
  • May 21: The Bible and Archaeology
  • June 10: The Gospel of Judas
  • June 24: Is the Bible Valid? Questions from Leading Skeptics

Please join us at Sarasa apartment building on the first and third Sundays of the month, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. We will meet in the community room, #206. It is the 14-story building located just outside the Arakawaoki Station, west side. There will be refreshments. For more information, please contact danceuponzion[AT]gmail.com
