Let's Go Cycling

Author: Author unknown, Issue: September 1996, Topic: Events

The Tsukuba Cultural Foundation is planning an "International Exchange Cycling Day" to encourage friendships and to explore a bit of Tsukuba from a bicycle. Anyone with a bicycle fit enough (that is both bike and rider) to ride the 20 km course can participate. The event is scheduled for Sunday October 13, and will be limited to the first 40 persons who apply. There is a 500 yen fee to cover expenses. You can fill in an application form at the Tsukuba Cultural Foundation (located across from the multi-story parking lot behind Jusco) through the end of September.

Participants are asked to pack their own picnic lunch and meet at the designated spot in Doho Park at 8:30 am. The route will go from there west to Expo Memorial Park, then north to Yukarinomori and then back east and south back to Doho. The group will depart at 9 am and finish about 2 pm. For further information, call the foundation at 56-7007.

The International Women's Network (IWN) is a group of women who enjoy chatting with people from all over the world. We hold a monthly potluck dinner where we exchange information about the local community while eating a variety of foods. No reservation is needed to attend the potluck. Just bring one dish of food and show up at the meeting. Newcomers are always welcome! Take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy the international city of Tsukuba with us!
