Tsukuba International School Moves To New Location

Author: Tsukuba International School, Issue: July 2006, Topic: Education

Art Projects by TIS Students (Photo by Kate)

For the past 3 years, TIS has been renting 2 classrooms in a music building associated with Academia Kindergarten, located several km from the center of the city, near JICA. While the "log cabin" style building and rooms were quite nice, the location was a bit inconvenient for most people.

TIS is happy to announce that we have found a new, much better location near the center of the city for the new school year beginning in September. All of our children and staff will be returning for the new school year, and we anticipate that a few new students will be enrolling.

TIS will be occupying the entire second floor and sharing part of the third floor of a 4-story building in Takezono. The smaller, first floor is being rented by the YMCA for its childcare program. (For details of this program, see YMCA After School Program.)

Ed's note: The school has since moved to a permanent location in Kamigo. Please see the school's website for details: http://www.tsukubainternationalschool.org

The office is now closed for the summer and will open again from August 16. Inquiries can be made through the school's website.
